This is the full fingerstyle guitar lesson for Change the World.

Change the world was written by Tommy Sims, Gordon Kennedy and Wayne Kirkpatrick and the best known version of it is by Eric Clapton. This stunning song rightly won 8 awards, including 3 Grammys, and also reached the top 40 in over twenty countries!

This arrangement is hard and is certainly not for beginners. There are a lot of nuances going on and it’s very intricate throughout. Having said that, it is a real blast to play if you’re up for it.

Alright, let’s pick up our guitars and learn how to play Change the World!

Change the World Guitar Lesson

In this lesson we cover the intro/verse of the song. Both parts are demanding but I’d say that the intro may be a little more so, due to the added harmonics and what not. Don’t feel as though you have to play it exactly like me, feel free to change certain parts if you want and perhaps add some of your own licks – there’s plenty or room for manoeuvre.

How to Play the Chorus

In this lesson we cover the chorus of Change the World. There’s some really cool stuff going on in this section!

Solo/Final Chorus

Now we’re going to tackle the solo section, bear in mind that you don’t have to put this section in at all and you could just skip over it if you wish. Also there’s an optional ending to the second chorus that I play and teach it in this lesson, but again it’s totally optional.
